My family and I had a wonderful time at Lake View Retreat. The home had all the amenities needed by a large family. We had a group of ten (plus four others who came along for the day), including teenagers and a one and a half year old and the home was perfect. More importantly, we wanted a place that was close to everything in Big Bear and Lake View Retreat certain fit that requirement. It was so relaxing to wake up early in the morning, brew a cup of coffee and enjoy the lake views right from the cabin.

Lake View Retreat was close to everything we wanted to do in Big Bear. We had the opportunity to enjoy the tube sledding by just walking across the street. After a day of tube sledding, we had a nice BBQ at the cabin (Weber BBQ provided). It was such wonderful day that we decided to take the kids to the lake, again only a short walking distance away from the cabin. At night, while the kids enjoyed playing the numerous board games provided in the cabin, we (the adults) enjoyed cocktails and playing pool in the separate game room downstairs. The next day we took the kids to The Village, also a short walking distance away, had a nice early dinner and on the way back picked up all the supplies needed for the kids to enjoy making s´mores in the great fireplace. The home even has a great Jacuzzi. While it was bit cold for us the jump in the Jacuzzi, I can only imagine how great it will feel after a day in the slopes.

The experience was made even better by Doria, who was always available. Doria´s complementary gift basket was full of treats; the kids had a great time going through all the goodies in the basket. We (the adults) enjoyed the complementary bottle of wine. Overall, Lake View Retreat was great for our family and we all had a great time. As my four year old state as we were packing to leave, "Daddy, I love this home, do we have to leave?"

Thank you to Doria and Big Bear Escapes for saving our Christmas! With our oldest of two children away in the army, we were not looking forward to spending a Christmas at home without him. We decided to rent Grizzly Getaway and escape to the mountains with grandma and my youngest son. We even took our two Yorkies! The cabin was beautifully decorated and with three bedrooms, the four of us had plenty of space. My 13 year old built a snowman, took snowboard lessons, and relaxed in the spa. The dogs enjoyed their walks and we all had fun playing games by the fire. We even roasted marshmallows! We were delighted to find a small tree with lights in the living room. We had brought some small decorations and expected to have to buy a Christmas tree, but there was no need. Our Christmas was perfect, with the exception of the fact that we were missing our older son. Big Bear Escapes even provided us with a ham and champaign for our Christmas dinner! The cabin was so well supplied with soap, shampoos, and other necessities, that vertically the only groceries we had to purchase was our food. The kitchen was stocked with plenty of cooking supplies. Everything was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the gift basket that we were given. It was chockfull of goodies, even something for the dogs! So many treats & goodies in fact, that we were able to package up some of them to send to NY to our soldier, who was experiencing his first Christmas alone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Grizzly Getaway!!! We highly recommend it and Big Bear Escapes. We couldn't have asked for better service or accommodations and we will definitely rent through them in the future!

Grizzly Getaway is an outstanding property, impeccably maintained and having all of the amenities of home. We were delighted by all of the touches, such as the wonderfully stocked kitchen, hotel quality towels, huge HDTV, and the game closet to keep the youngsters busy. The newly installed spa is wonderful and we felt immediately at home in this property, I would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in a top notch cabin experience that is truly a home away from home. The proximity to Bear Mountain and nearby shopping is fantastic, and we hope to get a chance to stay there again soon!

The Lake View Retreat House was a great stay for me and my family. When we arrived, there was a nice basket with some goodies and a bottle of wine. Everything was clean, and they provided us with everything that we needed (shampoo, soap, dish soap, etc.). The view was awesome and the house was so close to shops and the slopes, it made everything so easy for us. Doria, our contact for the rental, was always available when we called her if we were having any issues or had any questions about the house or just the neighborhood in general.

Thank you all for a wonderful time. Moon Shadow Lodge has an amazing view and all the luxuries that you could ask for a cozy cabin. It was perfect for my three older sons - from 24 down to twenty-year old, and our two puppies. The game room downstairs has everything, in our son's words; this is the coolest cabin ever." The upstairs and living area was cozy and the kitchen had EVERYTHING. We prepared our Thanksgiving dinner and I think the kitchen supplies were more then I have at home. The beds were cozy, warm and there were plenty of blankets and extra pillows. The cabin was very clean, bathroom had all supplies, and the washer and dryer were located in a great place. It was nested and on a quiet street. The neighbors were all friendly and we were in close proximity to the slopes and to beautiful trails that were basically our backyard.

Thanks to all at Big Bear Escapes and also for our gift basket filled with goodies.

As mentioned this the second time we rented this cabin. Very nice location with a fabulous view. Kitchen is stocked with all the essentials. Not far from The Village and other local attractions. Highly recommend this cabin.

We had a fantastic weekend at Moon Shadow Lodge for my 40th birthday in mid-September! There were six of us and there was plenty of space for all. Whereas most of the cabins I looked at in Big Bear had either a pool table or a foosball table or nothing, this cabin had everything! It has an electronic dartboard, air hockey, foosball, pool table, and a ping pong table! We made use of all of these whenever we were in the cabin. (The ping pong surface has to be laid on top of the pool table but we used it and it worked great.) The hot tub was amazing and had plenty of room for all six of us. The propane BBQ worked well. The kitchen was stocked with spices and had all of the utensils we needed. The only thing missing was a grinder for the coffee beans that were left for us in our welcome gift basket. I called the management company about this and there was one waiting at the door when we got back that night. The showers worked great and were actually high enough for a tall guy like me, which is rare! The cabin is close to the grocery stores in town so it is easy to pick up anything you might need, yet it is far enough away from everything so it is still a nice escape. September was a nice time of year to visit as we were able to go jet skiing, walk around the village in shorts, enjoy Oktoberfest, and go on a great hike!

We have spent a weekend at the Lake View Chalet in Big Bear Lake this summer. It was a family trip along with my sister's family that came from Germany. We have never been to Big Bear Lake before and was a bit uncertain as how this would work out. Well, it turned out to be a wonderful weekend for all of us. The cabin is located on a quiet street over looking the lake from back side. There are two huge decks on the back side of the cabin which opens to the wooded area with unobstructed view towards the lake. Both morning and evening views of lake are splendid, especially the sunset view. The summer weather is breezy and the day time temperature was around 75F. We had all our dinners on the deck which became a nightly family feast. We had initially planned to have dinners at restaurants in the city but after we saw a fully stocked kitchen and grill set, we have decided to grill at the cabin for the first night. It was a wonderful experience and after that everyone wanted to stay home and have a home cooked dinner. The kitchen is equipped with everything one can imaging. The last night in the cabin, we decided to have some rice for dinner and was wondering how we could cook for rice. Then there is a fancy rice cooker in the kitchen. There are some many little things that would pleasantly surprise you in the cabin. The three bedrooms are comfortably setup and the two bathroom are spotless. There are plenty of towels to go for a few days. Bathrobes are also available for the dip in the hot tub. The cabin also has plenty of games and videos for kids' entertainment. All in all, it has been a hit out of the park experience for all of us. My sisters' family was so impressed with it and they want to come back again. We know we will be back.

The Lake View Retreat offers such a peaceful, lake view setting within walking distance of the Lake and Village. The home was so clean and bright. We had an awesome time.
The Lake View Retreat allowed us to host our family retreat and reconnect. There was plenty of room in the two story well kept home. Pool table, ping-pong, jacuzzi and Wi-Fi. This home had it all. My kids especially enjoyed the ability to use their X-box on the big screen TV in the rec room.
AHHHH...that's all we can say as we relaxed in the jacuzzi and watch the boats on the lake go by....

Great location, nice cabin, LOVED the wrap-around porch and view, tree squirrels, birds and a distant raccoon.

Very much appreciated your delivery of some firewood for us -- Beautiful fireplace and, even though the gas outlet “key” was missing – we were prepared. I had brought some of my clothing dryer lint with me which I use as a kindling-hot starter for our fireplace at home. Little need for messy paper to start the fire and if the wood is pine and dry, you don’t need gas to get it in full fire. We had this going as our four teenagers were playing board games.

We thoroughly appreciated and used all features – the big kitchen, family-size dining table, outdoor Jacuzzi, pool table, chessboard, fireplace, LP music collection, outdoor seating, fresh air and sunshine. Loved it!

In between, we drove down the hill to hike nearby Castle Rock trails, zip Lines with Lodestone, kids swam with our dogs in the lake, more hiking, and checked out the village on the way out of town.

We’ll call you in the future for another stay!

We really enjoyed our time at Grizzly Getaway in Big Bear. It is a real mountain cabin with the comforts and amenities of a newer comfortable home. We were conveniently located in Big Bear so that we were easily able to go to the Moonridge Zoo, visit the lake and go into the village several time for meals and shopping. The cabin is also perfectly located to escape the noise of traffic and tourist so that we could really enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of the mountains. One day we went hiking and then came home and watched a movie on the flat screen television – definitely enjoyed having the best of both worlds!

My husband and I, literally,spent 12 hours trying to find the perfect cabin for a long weekend getaway with our family. We wanted a view, a spa, a pool table, and bunk beds, and Moonlight Manor had it all. The home looks just like the pictures, which I can tell you, is not the norm. Once we were in Big Bear, we drove by a few of the other cabins we considered, and we were overjoyed with our choice of Moonlight Manor ever more. The location is great. Quiet and private, but still close to everything. On top of everything else, Doria goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. She even left a goody bag for our dogs. No doubt, the next time we go to Big Bear we will stay at Moonlight Manor, or some other cabin that Doria manages, as she really delivers what she promises. Thank you Doria.

My trip/escape to Moonlight Manor was exactly what the doctor ordered. I was looking for a serene escape to get away from the job/city/stresses of my daily life and I found that escape at Moonlight Manor. The views were picturesque and the home was clean and full of amenities, which I love. The kitchen/living room was very open and lended itself well to my entertaining. The home had all kinds of activities to allow me to relax including a pool table and a hot tub/spa. I slept heavenly while I was there. The town/shops were close to the home and did not have crowds/lines, which was what I was trying to escape from. The town/shops are very quaint and were so enjoyable to visit. The next time I want a serene escape, I will definitely come back to Moonlight Manor.

Our stay at Moonlight Manor was delightful. It's a cozy and charming cabin that kept us all happy. It comfortably accommodated 4 adults and 2 children and one four legged child ;-)
During the day, the sun filled the spacious open living room/kitchen and at night, the deck provided front row seats (or in the hot tub) to the stars.
The house was very well taken care of and CLEAN.
We would definitely return next winter.

Where do I start? I first contacted Doria about Moonridge hot tub properties, we wanted to choose Chateau Badeaux but the stairs would have been to much for our 92 year old Grandmother. We chose another cabin through another rental company and they call us the day before our Presidents Day weekend rental and told us it was flooded and unavailable. They tried to accommodate us through other properties but all that they offered were substandard. I called Doria that night and she was able to get us Lake View Chalet on a moments notice and saved our weekend! But wait, there is more! Once there at the beautiful Lake View Chalet, there was a malfunction with the heating system. We called Doria ( when she says call her anytime, she means it ) and she had a heating company come out right away but the part would not be available till Tuesday leaving us in the cold, literally. Well, Doria came through again. She brought over firewood and portable heaters and reimbursed us for the money we spent on wood. She even offered to buy a heating blanket for Grandma. If ever there was an example of 5 star service, Doria provided it for us. She went above and beyond several times in 1 weekend for us. Next year we are just going to call Doria first!

We had a beautiful vacation at the Bear Haus. It is a nice two story cabin with a newly renovated kitchen, wood burning fireplace, and four bedrooms. My three and six year olds loved the bunk beds and my husband and I loved the wine and treats Doria left for us when we arrived. Our dog HATED the cold and was glad to get back to LA but we couldn't believe the house even had a dog run. We will definitely be back again. Thank you so much for a beautiful vacation. MY STAY AT THE CHATEAU BADEAUX OVER LABOR DAY WEEKEND WAS WONDERFUL. EVERYTHING WAS EXACTLY LIKE THE DESCRIPTION ON THE SITE. THE HOUSE WAS SO WONDERFUL THAT WE DIDN'T EVEN GO OUT TO DO ANY ACTIVITIES FOR THE FIRST DAY, WE JUST STAYED AT THE CABIN ALL DAY! THE HOT TUB AND POOL TABLE WERE A BIG HIT AND THE BEDROOM/BATHROOMS WERE GORGEOUS! FOR THE 4DAY STAY AT THE CHATEAU OVER A HOLIDAY WEEKEND, IT WAS A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. We had a lovely time in your home. We were really able to relax here and took advantage of all your place has to offer. From hot-tubbing, pool, movies, pictionary, karaoke, record player, grilling, cooking together and watching the birds, we all had a great time. Outside your home we enjoyed all that BB has to offer as well. As I said in my first message, the welcome basket and goodies really got us off to the right start. The welcome note on the chalkboard and the food for the birds were also nice touches that indicate how much you care. We loved all the books and the cooking supplies for real foodies. We enjoyed the layout, the view, and the well-equipped kitchen.

Dear Doria, thank you so much for making us feel so pampered and welcome at Moonlight Manor! We rarely get a chance to relax, so this trip was very important to us. We settled right in. We played pool, enjoyed cocktails out on the deck (what a view!), sat by the fire (love that fireplace in the master bedroom!) and just really enjoyed our time away from the "rat race". You have a great library of movies, which we watched every night.

We hiked a little bit and even found a great doggie beach, right on the lake. No leashes required. There must have been 30 dogs, playing in the water, chasing tennis balls and playing on the beach. They all got along. (They even serve cocktails while you watch the pups play! It doesn't get any better than that!!)

Our stay at Chateau Badeaux…

We wanted to treat our visiting family to something special, and Chateau Badeaux fit the bill perfectly! Everyone was so impressed with the first class accommodations – we really wished we could stay longer! The men thoroughly enjoyed the pool table, and everyone loved soaking in the hot tub on the deck. We filled the bird feeder and watched beautiful mountain birds eating breakfast in the morning, and who knew there were that many stars at night! We even saw three planets aligned which is a once in a lifetime occurrence that we would have never seen from the city. We had a great time staying in Moonlight Manor. It's a beautiful well kept cabin. It was perfect for our family. Our 2 year old & dog enjoyed roaming about the deck. The cabin was spacious and super cozy. We lit a fire every night in the bedroom & family room. The cabin was located very close to the zoo, ski resort, golf, Walgreens for necessities, and a hiking trail (2N10). We loved staying in Moonlight Manor and made our 7 year Anniversary so special! Weekend Getaway

Our spontaneous weekend getaway turned into a fun-filled family weekend retreat we will never forget! Spectacular mountain views surround this beautiful mountain home. All of the amenities you need for that comfortable home away from home feel are here in Chateau Badeaux. My four year old reported to me that the "mountain house" is her favorite. My six year old loved being so close to the snow. My husband loved sitting in the jacuzzi while enjoying the views and watching the change of colors on the mountain as the sun set. And I loved it all! The homeowner and property manager were extremely pleasant to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. We are already thinking about our next trip to Chateau Badeaux and highly recommend it to those looking for the perfect Big Bear getaway.

Brion's Secret is AWESOME! Although the pictures and descriptions do a great job, they do not do it full justice. This cabin with its landscaping and views are INCREDIBLE! The view of the slopes from the BED (yes from the actual bed, not sitting up, just laying there) in the master bedroom were FANTASTIC! It was so incredible waking up to a snow covered mountain sunrise. As far as we are concerned this cabin has the best view on the mountain. We walked the neighborhood and found not one house coming close to the view that this cozy cottage offers. We went to the cabin to celebrate my girlfriends birthday with her whole family and the accommodations were fantastic. Everyone was nice and comfy with their own parts to retreat to. Also everything we needed to cook with was conveniently in the kitchen. The cabin really is remarkable, words cannot describe how wonderful it really is. We can't wait to go back! I'd like to also say that Doria truly did make this trip enjoyable and relaxing knowing she was truly available and a phone call away if needed.

What a beautiful cabin Moonlight Manor is! The views are spectacular, the hot tub relaxing and the fireplaces made everything warm and cozy. Everything we could have possibly needed was there which was great since we didn't want to leave once we got there! Surprising Mom for her 75th was a very special, once-in-a-lifetime experience for her. Doria took care of all of the details from the handwritten note welcoming us (but not ruining the surprise) to the treats (for us and Joey the Handsome Golden Retriever) and the flexibility with the timing we needed to get everyone up the mountain to surprise her. Mom wrote us all very touching touching thank you cards and I know she'll never forget her time at Moonlight Manor with family and friends!

We appreciate how easy it was to rent from you, for our last-minute trip. The place is just as described by you and the website. It's great - cozy, without feeling small. The decor is warm and attractive; the shower, beds, and all fixtures were all modern; and, the proximity to skiing, restaurants and stores made it so convenient, as did the parking right out the front door. Finally, the dog extends a big thank you for the fenced-in yard he had to romp around in. He didn't want to leave!

Is this Big Bear or Mammoth?

Not only is Chateau Badeaux immaculate - but the little details make you feel like you are staying in a top notch mountain resort. There was an entire food basket left in the kitchen with a list of places to eat and visit in Big Bear, in the bathroom was another welcome package of toothpaste, etc. Robes were left on the bed, towels were actually soft and the extra blankets in the closets were ones I would purchase. My husband, small dog and 10 month year old baby stayed and loved every second. The house even had baby gates in the closet - this owner thought of everything. To top it all off, the view is breathtaking - too bad the slopes closed last weekend, because it would be fun to sit in the spa and look at the skiiers and mountain bikers come down the slopes. Highly recommended for those of us who are used to quality!

We have found the only place we will stay on our next Big Bear trip!

The accommodations and amenities are simply exceptional. The location is perfect, tucked in the trees making it feel private and cozy with incredible views, yet it was close to everything from shopping to skiing! Best of all our dog Cooper was welcome and had a great time watching the squirrels! The entire experience was wonderful and Doria was so accommodating!

Well be back for sure!

We came up during the biggest snow storm in years! it took us 10 hours to get here only the 18 from appple valley was open ,broken chains,,,,stuck cars ...finally made it ;-)we had such a blast in the 5 feet of snow...we are from sunny LA so it was great for us ! We have been coming every winter for the last 4 years and definetly the best trip we loved this cabin with its beautiful views ;-) Thank you Doria for all of her hospitality and help!!!!!

I visited moonlight manor for my 30th birthday. The house was completely perfect for a great getaway with friends. We BBQed on the deck, soaked in the hot tub, played pool and enjoyed the amazing collection of movies. The house is spacious, clean, charming and there was plenty of room for all of us. We spent our days hiking and kayaking on the lake.

Our experience at Moonlight Manor was wonderful! We had a welcome basket waiting for us filled with candy, coffee, wine, brochures of local events and shops... You can view skiers going down the slopes of Bear Mountain, not to mention the wildlife right in your backyard. The home was exceptionally clean which is important to me. Everything was provided, all you need to bring is food and your toothbrush. After you get off the slopes or a hike you can relax in the hot tub or by the fire. We found our home away from home!!!

Top Notch Accommodations!

We just spent the weekend at this beautiful cabin in Big Bear Lake. I highly recommend the cabin to any family/families or couples that are traveling to Big Bear for the weekend/week. The accommodations are top notch. Everything was clean, decorated nicely, newer amenities, etc. And the couch is one of the most comfortable couches I've ever sat on. It has a fireplace, jacuzzi, outdoor patio seating for breakfast, dinner, etc., pool table, washer/dryer, etc. The views were spectacular. We definitely plan on coming back during the winter time and look forward to taking in the breathtaking views of the snow covered mountains. The cabin supplied almost everything that we needed for a weekend getaway so we did not need to bring extras such as towels, coffee maker, pots, etc. They even had baby gates which came in handy with our one year old. Again, I'd highly recommend this beautiful cabin to anyone looking for top notch accommodations.

Wow, what an amazing time we had at this beautiful cabin. Our family always plans a yearly thanksgiving getaway and this was definitely a memorable one. The cabin was so clean and well put together. Every room was equiped with everything we needed and had ample storage space. We did not have to bring one pot, pan or cooking utensils to prepare out thanksgiving dinner, they had it all! This place hasamazing views of the mountain and we really enjoyed our late afternoons out on the deck enjoying the hot tub. The furniture was nice, new and comfy...I even asked where the owners purchased the couches so I could get them for my home. They also supplied baby gates for my 1 year old so I did not have to lug my own. Thank you so much for a lovely stay and making sure we had everything we needed before our arrival.

Our family of five (4 adults, 1 teen) enjoyed a WONDERFUL weekend at this vacation home! To anyone looking for that very "special" cabin get-away, I highly recommend "Moonlight Manor." From the moment you arrive, vistors are welcomed with a warm, inviting atmosphere complete with sparkling lights, a personalized gift basket, and country decor. It is enough to soothe and relax ALL urban dwellers and put a smile on your face! The cabin is actually very spacious with a large master bedroom, a full kitchen, and a dining alcove to make it even more intimate in the evening. There are even a bunch of great recipe books for mediocre cooks like myself! The owners have gone out of their way to ensure that their visitors will have a comfortable stay. Our family especially loved the outdoor jacuzzi, billiard table, porch swing, and the gorgeous views to the slopes, lake, and wildlife that passed only a few feet from where we sat. We all appreciated the free access to movie channels, board games, and stereo. The town is just a short drive away with access to great hiking trails, boat rentals, and shopping centers. Most of all, the owner is determined to meet your personal needs and nterests. (Thanks again Doria! As you can tell, we truly had a wonderful mini-vacation! Hope to visit again soon!)

Memorable family vacation in Big Bear home!

My family of six spent the most memorable 5 days in this lovely custom home in Big Bear Mountain. While the kids spent most of there time on the slopes, My husband and I enjoyed the fantastic views provided from this home, the spa was a big hit for us also.

The views from this house are breath taking and the sunsets are priceless.

The home is beautifully decorated with a well equipted kitchen. We found it to be extreamly clean, spacious, comfortable and relaxing with shopping and great restraurants near by.

My family and I are planning another ski trip in the next 3 months and will stay for our second time at the Chauteu Badeaux, can not wait!

I wanted to comment about how pleasant of a time we had at Moonlight Manor. My guests and I were very impressed by what the house had to offer us, including the breathtaking views you were telling me through our entire conversation. It was definitely quiet and relaxing place for us to unwind after a long school year and perform all the duties that had to be done at our retreat. We really appreciated the welcome basket and everything that was provided with the house (such as a full-stocked kitchen, bathroom complete with towels and shampoo, and of course the nicely decorated bedrooms, including the extra blankets that came in handy since it got chilly at night). It was a great experience at Moonlight Manor and I'll definitely recommend this location to my friends. Thank you for the enjoyable experience.

This house was the perfect place for our family of 7, including a 2-yr-old and a dog, to celebrate a 60th birthday. The moment I walked in the door I was charmed because Doria included in our gift basket dog treats, a bowl and two toys! The bird feeders on the porch were a delight. We saw blue jays, cardinals, chipmunks, squirrels, woodpeckers and more! The hot tub got plenty of use and the views were spectacular.
