We had a fantastic weekend at Moon Shadow Lodge for my 40th birthday
in mid-September! There were six of us and there was plenty of space
for all. Whereas most of the cabins I looked at in Big Bear had either a
pool table or a foosball table or nothing, this cabin had everything!
It has an electronic dartboard, air hockey, foosball, pool table, and a
ping pong table! We made use of all of these whenever we were in the
cabin. (The ping pong surface has to be laid on top of the pool table
but we used it and it worked great.) The hot tub was amazing and had
plenty of room for all six of us. The propane BBQ worked well. The
kitchen was stocked with spices and had all of the utensils we needed.
The only thing missing was a grinder for the coffee beans that were left
for us in our welcome gift basket. I called the management company
about this and there was one waiting at the door when we got back that
night. The showers worked great and were actually high enough for a
tall guy like me, which is rare! The cabin is close to the grocery
stores in town so it is easy to pick up anything you might need, yet it
is far enough away from everything so it is still a nice escape.
September was a nice time of year to visit as we were able to go jet
skiing, walk around the village in shorts, enjoy Oktoberfest, and go on a
Scott and friends
