From the Greater Los Angeles area:

Take Interstate 10 East toward San Bernardino, to the 210 freeway North, to Highway 330 East. Highway 330 becomes Highway 18 at Running Springs. Proceed on Highway 18 East to the Big Bear Lake Dam. At the yield sign, turn right and continue to Big Bear City.

From the Orange County or the South Bay area:

Take the 91 East (or the 55 North to the 91 East), to the 215 North, to Interstate 10 East, to the 210 freeway North, to Highway 330 East, to Running Springs. At Running Springs, the route becomes Highway 18, proceed East to the Big Bear Lake Dam. At the yield sign, turn right and continue to Big Bear City.

From the San Diego area:

Take Interstate 15 North, to the 215 North, to Interstate 10 East, to the 210 freeway North, to Highway 330 East to Running Springs. At Running Springs, the route becomes Highway 18, proceed East to the Big Bear Lake Dam. At the yield sign, turn right and continue to Big Bear City.

From the Las Vegas area:

Take Interstate 15 South, to Highway 247, to the town of Lucerne. Proceed past two stop signs and turn left onto Highway 18 and proceed up the mountains to the Big Bear Valley. Follow Highway 18 through Big Bear City.

From the Palm Springs area:

Take Interstate 10 West, to the 210 freeway North, to Highway 330 East, to Running Springs. At Running Springs, the route becomes Highway 18, proceed East to the Big Bear Lake Dam. At the yield sign, turn right and continue to Big Bear City.

Alternate Scenic Route:

(less busy):From the Interstate 10 East or West, exit on Orange Street in Redlands. Turn North onto Orange Street and then right onto Lagonia Street (CA-38). Proceed on Highway 38 up the mountain to Big Bear City.
